Cloud storage is encrypted end to end, so the service holds ciphertext it cannot read. If you would rather not use the plan’s quota at all, connect your own CouchDB — locally or on a server you control.

Subscribing records the request on your account, and this page prints the server’s answer word for word: plan, status and current period end. Nothing is charged, and the page never reports a purchase it has not taken.

Questions

Is there a cheaper plan?
No. One plan, two billing periods — monthly and yearly — with no second tier and no lifetime licence. The storage and note limits are the same either way, and they come from the accounts API.
What happens when the trial ends?
The 30-day trial starts at registration and needs no card. After it, the app is read-only until a plan is on your account: your notes stay readable, while creating, editing and exporting need the plan chosen on this page.
What does the app need?
macOS 26 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel. The app comes from the releases page — it is not a web app.
